Established in March 2016 in Dubai (UAE), Starboard is a chartering, shipping and maritime service provider for liquid hydrocarbons. Starboard is also active in environmental-friendly oil waste removal services on a global scale, covering the main ports in every continent. This includes handling all types of petroleum residues, including but not limited to ship slops, sludges, chemical waste, refining slops and off-spec cargoes.

Chartering & shipping

Since inception, Starboard has been dealing with global oil trading companies and major ship owners. Starboard’s main activities on the chartering and shipping side are:

Chartering of marine vessels and barges for the shipment of liquid hydrocarbons
Scheduling and planning of shipments
Providing most competitive freight rates to our customers

Handling the entire chartering process
Supporting our clients and ship owners with shipping operations
Supporting demurrage calculations and negotiations

Oil waste removal

Since January 2018, Starboard has successfully started providing oil waste removal services to major oil companies, ship owners and terminal facilities:

Collecting and handling ship petroleum residues and ensuring environmentally sustainable disposal in an operationally sound manner 
Completing a full “Know Your Client” (KYC) check on all involved counterparties in the operational chain
Ensuring that all petroleum residue removal operations from vessels or storage tanks adhere to local waste management regulations

Starboard is providing experienced operators and on the ground presence during operations in all serviced ports

Highly competitive pricing due to strong local relationships in various ports and a global network of re-refineries
